The airport uses a one-terminal concept, with all facilities centered around a central plaza, named the Schiphol Plaza. The main terminal is divided into three sections, or halls, each containing multiple concourse areas.
Departure Hall 1 comprises Concourses B and C, which are also referred to as Piers. Both of these piers are dedicated to handling flights to Schengen destinations. Pier D shares space between Hall 1 and Hall 2. Pier B contains 14 Gates, and Pier C contains 21 Gates.
Departures Hall 2 comprises Concourses D and E. Pier D is the largest of the two and has two levels. The lower level is used for non-Schengen destinations and the upper level is used for Schengen destinations. Gates D1 to D57 are used for non-Schengen destinations and beginning with Gate D59 and upwards are used for Schengen destinations. Pier E is used solely for non-Schengen destinations.
Departures Hall 3 comprises Concourses F, G and H/M. Both Pier F and Pier G are used for flights to non-Schengen destinations. Pier Fhas 8 gates and is typically used by SkyTeam members. Pier G has 13 gates.
Pier H and Pier M are physically one concourse that consists of seven gates that are shared between them. Pier H is used for non-Schengen flights and Pier M is used exclusively for Schengen destinations.
